Orlando, Can You Feel the Heat?

June 18, 2017

Melting snow cones, crowded malls, long lines at the movies and overpopulated theme parks. Orlando is honey to the vacation bees of summer—and if you live in one of the biggest cities in central Florida, brace yourself for a sweltering season “buzzing” with hot surprises.

As one of the greatest tourist-friendly states in all of America, Orlando has a tendency of drawing large scores of visitors from around the world for its historic museums, planetariums, roller-coasters and sporting centers. According to the Orlando Sentinel, in fact, the state welcomed an estimated 113 million tourists in 2016 alone—a leap of 1.2 million visitors within a single year!

That’s one definite way to show that you live in one of the most exciting and happening places in the US of A!

Too Hot to Handle

With the good comes the bad, however. And despite Orlando’s penchant for throwing some of the best summer surprises to all adventure-seeking travelers and natives, it can also be a pain to deal with the lows of intolerable weather.

Think you can just stay in and avoid the sun’s deathly stare?

It’s summertime, folks! Why stay in on the year’s highly anticipated season? Think ahead and beat the heat with these simple but rewarding ideas:

BBQ parties

Have a pool and stereo system? Fire up the grill and throw a classic BBQ party, taking a dip in the pool, sipping on some refreshing mint lemonade; or dousing some Sriracha on your Western BBQ steak burger for some meaty madness.

You’re from Orlando—bring on the heat!

You scream, I scream, We All Scream…

ICE CREAM!

Sure, there’s a long queue outside your favorite gelato shop. Sure, it’s bound to melt away. Sure, you can enjoy it any other time of the year.

But it’s SUMMER, gosh darn it! And if you’re not practicing the sacred tradition of teaching your kids to wait patiently for “just desserts” (Baskin-Robbin’s Jamoca FTW), shame on you, sir—shame on you.

Visit at least ONE hotspot

Whether it’s SeaWorld, WonderWorks, Disneyworld or 2017 NFL Pro Bowl—you owe it to yourself to visit at least one behemoth entertainment center in your hometown.

Be prepared for the onset of tourist traffic, which will presumably be high.

Unfortunately, crazy humidity, crowds and close proximity can pave the way for an unwelcome transfer of disease and afflictions, such as head lice infestation—an epidemic on the rise every summer in Florida.

But why let fear get in the way of your fun?

Visit our lice clinics for a thorough screening and don’t let head lice be the bummer of your summer!
